Ron Artest Developing Reality Series

Ron Artest is lined up to star in his own reality series titled, “They Call Me Crazy.”  The show is being developed and produced by Artest with E1 Entertainment and Tijuana Entertainment.  “They Call Me Crazy” documents Artest’s life and hopes to grant his fans the road to forgiveness for his past indiscretions.  The program will also funnel attention to Artest’s developing hip-hop label Tru Warier, championed by E1 Music.

E1 which will distribute the program worldwide is also looking to release another reality series down the line for r&b artist Faith Evans.

Lady Gaga Talks James Bond

 

Lady Gaga is said to be in talks to record the next James Bond theme song.  The Bond Breakers are supposedly huge fans of Gaga’s style and are intent on landing her to perform the lead track for the next 007 movie.  “Bond 23” currently in pre-production will be directed by Sam Mendes and is expected to release fall 2011.

New Draft for Lebron’s “Basketball Camp”

 

“Fantasy Basketball Camp,” the sports comedy directed by Malcom D. Lee, and starring Lebron James is gaining a new draft with Peter Steinfeld on board to pen it.  Originally written by Babaloo Mandel and Lowell Ganz the story is centered on five men who set out to live their fantasy by joining Lebron James Adult Basketball Camp in Vegas. However, their hoop dreams end up dragging Lebron into their various man issues.  This will be Lebron’s first major film role; no word yet as to when production will begin.

Fox Jumps on Jamie Foxx Pilot

 

Fox is on deck for an untitled pilot executive produced by Jamie Foxx.  The project includes “Mad TV” creators Fax Bahr and Adam Small, along with “Wild ‘N Out” improv comedian Affion Crockett as one of the stars.  Affion Crockett  is also on board to star in a separate sketch comedy project for the Fox Network.

Phase 4 Snatches Up Rights to 50 Cent Film

Phase 4 wasted no time acquiring North American rights for “Dead Man Running,” the upcoming adrenaline charged film starring Tamer Hassan, Danny Dyer, and rapper/actor Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. Directed by Alex De Rakoff, the story raps up in 24 hour high-speed chase to pay back a loan shark (Jackson) 100 grand. Fans can look forward to its debut later this year but until then check out the UK trailer for a sneak peek at the excitement.

Emerge Modeling and Talent Agency is still looking to cast catchers for a Wheaties Fuel “Duel ” with Albert Pujols of the St. Louis Cardinals.  The commercial audition will be held in Orlando,  Florida on Sunday March, 7th.  Call backs are scheduled for Friday March, 12th in the Jupiter/West Palm Beach area.  Shortly after the shoot takes place on Sunday, March 14th also in the Jupiter/West Palm Beach area.  If you would like to apply send your information to castings@emergetalent.com  with “Catcher” in the subject headline. The rate for this commercial is SAG National. Comedy Central Studios Arabia is Developing

MTV Networks Intl. and Abu Dhabi’s TwoFour54 are moving forward to launch Comedy Central Studios Arabia. The new company will produce comedy in arabic and will broadcast throughout the Middle East and North Africa.  The focus for the launch is to develop new Arabian comedy talent that includes programming and standup.  Existing programs are also likely to be adapted for the network as TwoFour54 has already launched a Comedy Arabia website, though the content for the site is now English based the channel will stream entirely in Arabic.

Omarosa and Trump Reunite

Omarosa and Donald Trump reunite to produce a reality series for TV One.  This time the focus will be “Omarosa’s Ultimate Merger,” twelve men take the challenge to compete for her attention, which will prove to be no easy task. Omarosa the proposed Villan of  Trump’s “The Apprentice” is said to be smart, witty and largely difficult in character.  The surviving men will compete in obstacles related to business and romance.  Keeping true to the reality dating format each week a bachelor will be eliminated contingent to advice from Trump.  The show will be shot in Las Vegas Trump Intl. Hotel and Tower.

Precious Expands its Screenings

In response to avid interest in the Lee Daniels film “Precious” Lionsgate has planned an aggressive expansion adding to the 800 theaters where its shown to as many as 1,200 theaters.  To start the indie film will be added to the roster of a couple of hundred screens  in five additional markets Friday, including Washington and San Francisco.
